    Almex in cooperation with the South Africa National Department of Transport (NDoT) used their transport data element on the EMV Contactless Card from MasterCard to create the MUVO Card. The Muvo Card is certified by the NDoT and MasterCard, can be used for making payments at retail shops, buses, trains, and taxis throughout South Africa to facilitate a truly Integrated Rapid Public Transport Network(IRPTN). The MUVO Card is the EMV Contactless Card for Durban and the Cards are issued and prepared by Standard Bank. This means that the transport operator no longer needs to worry about managing a card scheme nor the security or costs thereof which are substantial.

    The Almex partner in Germany namely ALMEX GmbH is amongst the market leaders in Germany, the United Kingdom, and in Europe. More than 10,000 ticket vending machines in long-distance and commuter train stations and more than 25,000 ticketing systems in buses and trains across Europe bear testimony to the reliability of solutions.

    Almex also partners with Ikusi in Spain for monitoring software for Vending Machines and mass transit Electronic or Turnstile Gates in conjunction with Gunnebo for ticket validation.
